Registration Questions

How do I register?

Registration will be opening soon! Implementation Academy and Main Conference pricing as well as travel and lodging information will be available in Spring 2016. 

How do I get a receipt?

You can print out a receipt online after registering by entering your email address and confirmation number. Receipts are available in the confirmation page. 

What does the registration fee include?

The registration fee covers participation in the conference including lunch, and coffee breaks. Participants need to register separately for the pre-conference Implementation Academy day.

Can I register to attend only one day of the conference?

At this juncture we do not have one-day rates.

General Questions


Where does the GIC 2017 take place?

The GIC 2017 will take place in Toronto, Canada.  The full conference will take place at the Sheraton Centre hotel with the pre-conference Implementation Academy taking place at the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning (PGCRL) located at the Hospital for Sick Children. 

What is the dress code?

Business casual.

Will there be accommodations for attendees who have accessibility needs?

Can I submit a poster/presentation to the conference?

The submission deadline was October 7, 2016. No late submissions are accepted. The Call for Proposals for the 2019 conference will be announced in summer 2018. To ensure you are on our mailing list, please sign up below.

I am an overseas participant and need a letter of invitation before I can receive my visa. What is the procedure?

Upon full payment of conference registration fees, we will send an invitation letter if requested during registration. We will not supply an invitation letter to unpaid or unregistered participants, and GIC reserves the right to refuse to provide invitation letters for attendees. Please note that GIC does not give any further support to the visa application process. Obtaining a visa remains the sole responsibility of the participant. Cancellation deadlines apply, regardless of whether your visa was granted or not.

Can I get a list of participants or attendees?

We will not be printing a list; however, you will have access to contact information of all fellow attendees through the app, assuming they have given us permission to include them.

Who is this conference for?

The GIC 2017 will be focused on the impact of systems in supporting quality and sustainable implementation that produces a positive social impact. This conference is intended to be multi-disciplinary and attract delegates from a variety of systems with diverse perspectives on implementation and systems at local, regional, and global levels.

Will the conference offer childcare?

Childcare is not provided.

Does the conference provide transportation from the airport to the host hotel?

No, you must provide your own ground transportation. For the most economical option, read about UP Express on our travel page.

Where can I exchange money?

Need to get some loonies? Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel has currency exchange available in their front desk. There is also a Foreign Exchange Center, located one level beneath the hotel. The airport also has currency exchange services available. 

How do you choose the city to host the conference?

When do I go through Customs as a US traveler?

All US travelers will go through customs in Toronto, both upon arrival to and exit from Canada. Please consider this when scheduling your flights and arrival times.
